Most People are Living with Stress

People are under a lot of stress these days!  The Mayo Clinic reports in a study done by Mayo and the National Institute on Aging, that 7 in 10 Americans takes a prescription drug. That is, 7 out of 10 people you meet or know are on some kind of medication. The majority of the prescriptions written are for antibiotics, antidepressants and pain-killing opioids. And it would seem that parents are passing the “solution by prescription” ideology to their children. As teens and children see their parents taking a pill to alleviate their issues, it becomes more likely they will take the same route. But hypnotherapy for stress could present an alternative without the side effects.

We have become a Nation of Pill Poppers

Many times the pill-popping journey begins with attention issues, feelings of anxiety, or feelings of sadness and helplessness. As a society we collectively wonder where all of these issues are coming from. Why are they are more prevalent than ever, and what causes them? It is difficult to compile all of the contributing factors, but most everyone would agree that one of symptoms is a simple 6 letter word……stress. Using a pill to treat stress simply alleviates the symptom, while the core issue remains intact.

Handling stress is an essential skill in the modern world that most of us were not taught by our parents. Parents teach their children many things, including how to eat, how to have fun, how to play sports or even how to treat others. Very few parents, however, teach the skill of stress management…..most likely because they, themselves were not taught this skill.

Lack of skills to deal with stress is an issue affecting our culture and society in an extreme way. Left untreated and ignored, stress leads down so many undesirable paths. Lingering stress can later manifest as physical health problems, depression, anxiety, addictive behavior, or anger management issues. But there are so many healthy tools to help alleviate stress. Hypnotherapy is one of them.

How does Hypnotherapy for Stress Work?

Hypnotherapy provides people with the tools to look at the deeper parts of themselves.  It can help to alleviate stressful situations and, when necessary, draw the strength and insight to remain at peace.  The release of toxic emotions helps to balance the body, mind and spirit treating the core of the issues and not just the symptoms. Our collective and individual belief systems often lead us to believe we must hide our stress, or be embarrassed about it. Pushing down those feelings and pretending like they do not exist causes them to be stored in the body. Because energy needs to move and be released, there is only so much the body can manage before physical and emotional conditions begin to result.

Stress occurs because people seek approval, love and support outside of themselves, and attribute blame to others and the world when circumstances appear to be adverse. We all need the resources to look within so we are no longer dependent on that which is outside of us for our state of being. When the world is our only resource for comfort and strength, we find ourselves at the mercy of outside events and other people. We lose our individual power. If we can teach our children the necessary resources early on, we not only stop stress from affecting their lives in a negative way, but we participate in creating a world where stress is no longer a debilitating condition. Our teachings could ring throughout generations!

Take your power back today…..and just as, if not more importantly, teach your children how to find and keep their power!
