𝗖opper Heart Torus — Original Mixed-Media Art

This original copper heart torus art brings together hand-constructed sacred geometry, copper, gemstones, paint, resin, and the symbolism of love in motion.

I create this one-of-a-kind 16 x 20-inch mixed-media artwork entirely by hand, beginning with the geometry itself.

I do not use a printed pattern or prefabricated metal form.

Instead, I begin with a blank canvas, a pencil, and a compass.

First, I construct the underlying torus geometry by hand. Next, I wind copper into doubled strands and shape those strands to follow the design. Then, I permanently apply the copper structure directly to the canvas before I begin painting.

Once the geometry is in place, I paint the composition in a dramatic black-and-white palette. Repeating black heart forms follow the movement of the torus, creating the impression of love circulating through a continuous field rather than existing as a single static symbol.

At the center, white gemstone chips emerge against a deep black background. As a result, they create contrast, texture, and a crystalline focal point.

Finally, I finish the entire composition beneath resin. The resin brings the copper, paint, gemstones, and geometry together beneath a luminous surface that adds depth, reflection, and visual movement.

The result is an original dimensional artwork that can never be reproduced exactly.

From Blank Canvas to Finished Art

I create every layer of this piece by hand.

• I begin with a blank 16 x 20-inch canvas
• First, I construct the underlying sacred geometry with pencil and compass
• Next, I wind the copper by hand into doubled strands
• Then, I shape each copper section to follow the torus design
• I permanently apply the copper geometry to the canvas
• Afterward, I hand-paint the canvas in a black-and-white composition
• I create repeating black heart forms that follow the movement of the torus
• I individually incorporate white gemstone chips into the center
• Finally, I finish the entire artwork beneath resin
• The completed piece becomes dimensional, reflective, and highly detailed

I physically build it into the artwork itself.

About the Torus Design

The torus is a geometric form defined by continuous circulation.

Energy moves outward, around, inward, and through the center again.

In this artwork, I interpret that movement through repeating heart forms.

From a close view, the individual black hearts appear clearly. However, as you step farther away, they begin to merge into the larger toroidal structure.

As a result, the hearts become part of a continuous field.

The piece suggests love not as a single emotion or symbol, but as movement—circulating, expanding, returning, and continually passing through the center.

Meanwhile, the central black field creates visual stillness.

The white gemstone chips interrupt that darkness with brightness and texture, like crystalline points of light emerging from the center.

Love as a Continuous Field

The heart motif carries the emotional structure of this piece.

Rather than placing a single heart at the center, I repeat the form throughout the toroidal movement.

Therefore, love becomes part of the geometry itself.

It moves.

And it circulates.

It expands outward and returns inward.

In this way, the artwork expresses love as a living field rather than a static symbol.

The repeating pattern also creates a visual rhythm that draws the eye through the copper structure and back toward the center.

Black + White + Copper

The restrained palette gives this copper heart torus art much of its visual power.

Deep black creates the foundation and the central still point.

White introduces contrast, clarity, and light.

Meanwhile, warm copper moves through both, defining the geometry and adding physical dimension.

Together, these materials create a composition that feels bold and graphic from across a room.

However, as you move closer, the artwork reveals increasingly intricate detail.

The copper becomes more dimensional. The gemstone texture emerges. The resin catches more light. In addition, the repeated heart forms become more visible within the larger torus.

The Copper Process

I create every copper element from wire.

I do not cut the design from a sheet, nor do I purchase a finished metal form.

Instead, I begin with copper wire and wind it into doubled strands.

Then, I shape each section by hand along the geometry of the torus.

This process creates a raised copper structure with greater depth and presence than a single wire line.

As a result, the toroidal pattern becomes a physical part of the artwork’s surface.

The finished copper also interacts with the resin and surrounding light.

Throughout the day, highlights shift across the wire. Consequently, the geometry can appear more luminous, more dimensional, or more reflective depending on the angle and light source.

The Resin Finish

The resin serves as an important visual element within the completed artwork.

It does more than protect the surface.

Instead, it visually unifies the copper, gemstones, paint, and sacred geometry.

The resin also creates a luminous surface that intensifies contrast and adds depth.

As lighting and viewing angles change, different elements move forward visually.

The copper may glow.

The gemstone chips may catch the light.

Meanwhile, the darker portions of the composition may appear deeper and more reflective.

Therefore, the artwork changes subtly throughout the day.
