VRKSASANA - TREE POSE
VRKSASANA – TREE POSE

To enter VRKSASANA – TREE POSE:

1. Begin in Tadasana (Mountain Pose) at the front of your mat. Stand tall with your feet grounded and spine long.

2. Shift your weight into your left foot, rooting down through the sole.

3. As you inhale, lengthen your spine while Bring your right knee up toward your chest with both hands, then externally rotate the hip, opening the knee out to the side.

3. Place the sole of your right foot on the inside of your left calf or inner thigh — avoid the knee joint. Press foot and leg gently into one another.

4. Bring your hands to Anjali Mudra (prayer position) at your heart, or lift your arms overhead with soft shoulders and fingers reaching toward the sky.

Gaze softly forward, breathing deeply and holding for 6–12 breaths. To release, gently lower the foot and return to Mountain Pose. Repeat on the other side.
